A visit to a Tea Estate and Factory and seeing some examples of the country's history and culture in the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy where you will also see a colourful Cultural Show. For those keen on plant life, the time you spend at the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens will be one of the highlights of the tour. A very interesting and must-do tour particularly for trekking enthusiasts.
 


Day 01 Airport - Negombo

Arrive in Sri Lanka, to be met at the airport and transfer by air-conditioned Vehicle to a Hotel in Negombo, Negombo is a bustling city close to the Bandaranaike International Airport; and second largest city in the Western province, after Colombo. Rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 02 Pinnawala - Sigiriya

After an early breakfast travel to Sri Lanka's cultural triangle via Elephant Orphanage, an institution that has been looking after orphaned or injured elephants. If you leave the hotel early then you can watch the elephants bath in the river after the youngest babies are milk fed. After lunch you will leave for the cultural triangle and check in at a hotel in Sirigiya. In the late afternoon we will organize a one-hour elephant ride through dry land jungle.

Day 03 Polonnaruwa – Minneriya

The next day explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, once the capital of an advanced and prosperous medieval kingdom. Afterwards return to the hotel for Lunch. After lunch safari at Minneriya national park, an important wetland park supporting many aquatic birds and about 300 wild elephants.

Day 04 Kandy

The next day, after breakfast, you will have a city tour of Kandy, visiting the temple of the tooth and some leisure time for shopping. Evening you will be entertained with a spectacular Sri Lankan cultural show.

Day 05 Nuwara Eliya

Proceed to Nuwara Eliya en-route visit a tea factory.Optional Lunch at Nuwara Eliya. Evening visit the Hakgala botanical gardens. "Hakgala is a small botanical garden close to the famous hill resort of Nuwara Eliya. A special attraction here is the variety of montane orchids, many of them endemic to Sri Lanka.It was once the pleasure garden of Ravana of the Ramayana epic and according to many; it was one of the places where the beautiful Sita was hidden by the demon king".

Day 06 Horton Plains

After early breakfast leave for Horton Plains. Here you will trek to world ends, Bakers falls and to Kirigalpotta. "The rugged mountain route to the plains is a tough drive; but the hauntingly beautiful surroundings & majestic scenery will keep them enthralled throughout the journey. Horton Plains is a highland plateau comprising mountain grassland and elfin forest. It is home to a large variety of endemic birds & flora. The full day nature trail covering World's End, a scenic viewpoint with a dramatic drop & Baker's Falls is approximately 18-20Km in total".

Day 07 Ella

Today you will drive through Scenic remote countryside passing beautiful paddy fields, lakes, reservoirs and mountain passes. You will arrive at the scenic village of Karandagolla, Ella, where you will spend overnight.

Day 08 Kithulgala

You will be taken to the Kitulgala, where you could challenge yourself to some whitewater rafting down the Kelani River. The Kelani river graded 2/3 rafting site stretches for six kilometres with seven exciting rapids. Alternately you could visit the Beli Lena caves. This is a famous cave where the 12,000 year old skeletal remains of the Balangoda Man (Homo sapiens Balangodensis) were found. Also found here are the waste parts of the food consumed by them.

Day 09 Airport

Depart in good time for your flight home.
