Day 01
Airport - Negombo
Airport
transfer to a Hotel in Negombo. Depending on the time a
city tour of Negombo. "A characteristic fishing town
north of Colombo, it is a mere 6 Km from the
international airport. Set amid lush groves of coconut
palms, it breathes the spirit of the sea. Negombo is a
gourmet's paradise with sea food in plenty. Old world
fishing craft like the outrigger canoe and the catamaran
bring seer, skip jack, herring and mullet, pom fret &
amber jack, while lobster & prawn are caught in the
lagoon."

Day 02
Pinnawala - Dambulla
After
breakfast leave to visit Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala.
Optional lunch at Dambulla. After lunch visit Dambulla
Rock Cave Temple. Dambulla Rock Cave Temple. This rock cave
temple is must for any tourist who visits Sri Lanka. A
history, which dates back to the 1st centaury BC and
awarded the first prize for the best photograph at the
World Tourism Organization in 1995.
Dinner and overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 03
Anuradhapura
After
breakfast visit Cultural sites in Anuradhapura.
"Anuradhapura lay deserted for hundreds of years, the
ruins buried deep in the jungles of the dry zone of Sri
Lanka. The visitor might imagine that an explorer had
stumbled on the lost city and brought it to light. But
Anuradhapura, city of 113 kings was never forgotten to
the people of Sri Lanka. Anuradhapura is the birthplace
of Sinhalese civilization & one of the world's largest
archaeological sites. It is considered as the greatest
monastic city of the ancient world, & was founded in the
5th century BC.

Day 04
Polonnaruwa - Minneriya
After
breakfast visit Cultural sites in Polonnaruwa.
"Polonnaruwa was the capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th
to the 13th century AD. This ancient city is today one
of the most beautiful centres of this island's cultural
heritage. In its prime, the city, inside it's 3.5 miles
strong encircling walls, housed hundreds of thousands of
people. The remains of this ancient city comprised of
many buildings and irrigation works. The buildings,
mainly brick structures, included the inner city area
(with two palace complexes of two different kings),
inner & outer city walls, a number of monastic complexes
with stupas, image houses & dwelling cells of monks.
Also contained were refectories, assembly halls (chapter
house, bathing pond etc".

Day 05
Kandy
After breakfast leave for
Kandy. En-route you would visit a spice garden and
Aluvihara Temple. "Kandy was the last capital of the Sri
Lankan kings, which fell to the British in 1815. This
hill capital is situated in a valley 1600 feet above sea
level, surrounded by mountains & virtually encircled by
the scenic Mahaweli river; the longest in Sri Lanka. Due
to it's Its cultural and religious significance UNESCO
designated the Sacred City of Kandy as a World Heritage
Site in 1988."
Dinner and overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 06
Nuwara Eliya
Proceed to
Nuwara Eliya en-route visit a tea factory. Optional
Lunch at Nuwara Eliya. Evening visit the Hakgala
botanical gardens. "Hakgala is a small botanical garden
close to the famous hill resort of Nuwara Eliya. A
special attraction here is the variety of mountain
orchids, many of them endemic to Sri Lanka. It was once
the pleasure garden of Ravana of the Ramayana epic and
according to many; it was one of the places where the
beautiful Sita was hidden by the demon king".

Nuwara Eliya.

Colombo - Airport
Depart in good time for your
flight home.
